Establishing a Brand for the Guide

As this was La Quinta’s first visitor guide, there was no established reference to build upon. I created branding specifically for the guide, drawing inspiration from the city’s existing visual identity while pushing it into a more refined editorial space. This involved developing type hierarchies, iconography, and a layout system.

Capturing a Dual Identity

La Quinta is defined by its unique balance of luxury and relaxed desert charm. The challenge was to create a design that seamlessly integrated these contrasting themes. I designed the guide to simultaneously convey sophistication and approachability, making the city inviting to a broad range of visitors.
